Woodland Walks at Belvedere
In addition to the beautifully restored Georgian Villa, Victorian Walled Garden and rolling parkland with it's numerous follies, visitors to Belvedere, House, Gardens and Park can enjoy the wonderful woodland walking trails on the shores of Lough Ennell at this magnificent 160 acre Lakeside estate. Belvedere can be a place of quiet contemplation and also a bustling, vibrant, colourful place with the many events held there, it is a place resonant of the past but relevant to the future.
The Woodlands at Belvedere were extensively planted with Beech trees during the 18th Century with an “arboretum” of exotic conifers planted more recently during the last century. The paths through the woodland follow the original trails taken centuries ago by the Earls and Ladies of this magnificent estate, except for new paths created to allow visitors to enjoy the Gothic Arch, the Octagonal Gazebo Summerhouse and breathtaking views across Lough Ennell. Four children's play areas can be found, along with benches and seating areas along the trails.
