Entirely off-road and mostly flat, this trail is very safe for families and perfect for a leisurely stroll or cycle. The Royal Canal Greenway.stretching alongside the historic 225-year-old canal, the Royal Canal Greenway is known for its scenic beauty, rich heritage and abundant wildlife, with routes from 6km to the full 130km. The National Famine Way  passes through Mullingar, it commemorates a heartbreaking walk of forced emigration in 1847 at the height of the Irish famine.  Located a short distance from Mullingar, approx 8km is the beautiful Tudenham Park Trails on the shores of Lough Ennell.
