Rochfortbridge is a village in Westmeath, situated between Milltownpass and Tyrrellspass. It has a growing population thanks to the M6 (together with the M4) Dublin to Galway motorway allowing commuters ease of access to the larger cities.

There is a children's playground in the centre of the village, and close by, just across the road is O'Reilly's where great coffee is served, and a full breakfast and lunch menu.

Rochfortbridge at one time had a strong connection with Bord na Mona and workers from the Derrygreenagh Works lived in the village. The Bord na Mona housing development at Derrygreenagh Park, Rochfortbridge, is one of a number that were built throughout the midlands following the Turf Development Act (1950) and were an important landmark in public housing in Ireland.

Not far from the village, a 20 minute drive will find you a great evening of entertainment at Killbeggan Racecourse, one of four National Hunt (jumps) racecourses. A popular racing venue, Kilbeggan Racecourse is known for the Midlands National Handicap Chase, a recognised trial for the Galway Plate and other major festival races.

Experience the rich and dramatic history of Belvedere House, Gardens & Park once home to the Rochfort family, it is just 15kms from Rochfortbridge. Wander through the magnificent gardens, or re-live the romance and style of this fabulous Palladian hunting lodge designed by the renowned Richard Cassells. With four children's playgrounds and lakeside walks Belvedere is very popular with visitors of all ages.
