The Bastion Gallery
The Bastion Gallery is a gift shop established in 1990 specialising in gifts and Jewellery designed and made in Ireland including Ogham Treasure Jewellery which is designed and handcrafted in Athlone.
The shop is steeped in history and was once the drapery shop run by Michael Kilkelly the choirmaster and teacher of John Count McCormack, who would regularly be heard practicing his singing upstairs. Michael Jackson and his family spent two hours here one night in 2006.
