Mount Temple village is a pretty, well-cared for rural village, only 10mins away from Athlone.
Located in the heart of the village is the Motte and Bailey Restaurant, at Egan's Bar and Lounge, well-known for its mouth-watering menu and great atmosphere.
The Mount Temple Golf Club is renowned for its large links-type greens and undulating fairways. Sited on an esker, the elevated landscape gives the course the advantage of being playable all year-round and offers amazing views stretching over 75 miles.
The Holy Trinity Church and graveyard can be found in the core of Mount Temple village and is the location of the former medieval parish church of Ballyloughloe, an upright portion of which survives today above ground. At some later stage, probably in the eighteenth century a new second church was constructed some 9 meters to the west of the visible portion of the medieval church.
The town of Moate is just 9km away, where you will find lots of great food options and fantastic attractions such as Dún na Sí Amenity & Heritage Park, a favourite for families thanks to the fabulous Pet Farm and children's playground. The Heritage Park is a hidden gem and a great way to spend an afternoon.
